WYCC partners up with West Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards

The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges has been announced as a partner of the inaugural West Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards taking place this June.

Announced during National Apprenticeships Week and backed by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the awards will celebrate both the apprentices and their employers that are excelling across West Yorkshire.

The consortium's Collaborative Apprenticeships project aims to improve apprentices’ skills for work and support businesses to take on apprentices and runs until December 2023. The award partnership will help to raise the profile of this project which offers fully-funded training and support to apprentices and employers in the region.

The awards are due to take place in June and the awards categories include:

  • SME Apprentice Employer of the Year
  • Large Business Apprentice Employer
  • Diversity and Inclusion Programme
  • Training Provider/Programme of the Year
  • Mentor of the Year
  • Intermediate or Advanced Apprentice of the Year
  • Higher or Degree Apprentice of the Year
  • Business and Law Apprentice of the Year
  • Engineering and Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year
  • Health and Public Service Apprentice of the Year
  • Construction Apprentice of the Year
  • Technology and Digital Apprentice of the year

Nominations can be submitted by the apprentice themselves, their employer, college or training provider or even by proud loved ones.

‘Collaborative Apprenticeships’ will run in the Leeds City Region until December 2023 and is funded by the European Social Fund.
