Showcasing Skills & Talent
The Matchfit project has secured funding for another year from Calderdale College, through the Skills Funding Agency on behalf of the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges. Matchfit 2012/13 saw over 100 students from 17 providers taking part in competitions throughout Yorkshire & Humber.
Jack Scarr from the Matchfit project said “The 2013 competitions were a great success and the competition finals at Bradford College showed just how much talent there is in our region, we’re building on that success with our partners by running the finals across the region this year to make sure as many students can access them as possible.”
Matchfit aims to inspire and embed a skills competition ethos within education and employment. Many providers from across the region have taken part in hosting these competitions across Yorkshire & Humber.
Louise Tearle, Partnership Director, West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges said “All the competitions are aimed at improving skills and curriculum and industry based. It’s great to be part of such inspirational events and see such fantastic activities being showcased.”
